definitely no safari experience.... the hatchery is quite different – it's been created for guests to have fun and leave feeling chilled out and relaxed. if you must know a portion of the old prawn hatchery has been converted to eight rooms – each individual and different and each with aircons the communal kitchen is pretty well kitted and quite a cool place to hang out there’re a couple of places to chill out and relax – all with views(cliched but true) - if we’re full and you still want a piece of the action you can make your own home – pitch your tent (we’ll even throw in a bathroom)
The history of the hatch is makes for interesting reading and more importantly has played an integral role in what it has evolved to become. Fanie Myburgh was a civil engineer who decided he wanted to do something different. He approached the community of macambini in the late 70’s with his vision of building a prawn farm they agreed. An old fisheries and research facility which happened to right on top of an awesome site overlooking the amatikulu lagoon was converted into a commercial hatchery which supplied the farms. now it has been converted into 8 rooms(each different) with a communal kitchen.(guests with dodgy cooking skills have the alternative of asking keshnee at the prawn shack for lunch). be warned – it is different – but in a nice way!!

Overview: Sand Forest Lodge is located in the Hluhluwe area on a nature reserve on the edge of an ancient sand forest. The Lodge is 10 minutes from the village of Hluhluwe and 20 minutes from the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve. Accommodation consists of one and two en-suite bedroomed cottages, decorated in Afro-colonial style. The rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito nets, ceiling fans and are serviced daily. Each unit is further equipped with a kitchenette with a fridge, verandah and braai facilities. Meals can be prepared by request.

Overview: Toad Tree Lodge is a luxury self catering lodge situated in the Kuleni Game Park, situated 18kms from Hluhluwe towards Sodwana on the R22.

The lodge is made up of 3 separate units sleeping 4, 2 and 2 persons respectively, so can be configured to accommodate 2 persons in privacy, up to 6 in a group and then up to a total of 8 persons taking over the entire lodge. All units are raised wooden structures situated in a walking only 180 Ha reserve with a variety on non-dangerous game including giraffe, zebra, impala, nyala, wildebeest, warthog and fantastic birdlife. The lodge are fully equipped for self catering with en-suite bathrooms, swimming pools, braai areas and DSTV. They are all serviced daily.

Game drives to the nearby Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserve and St.Lucia areas can be arranged.

Overview: Qalakahle Lodge provides Accommodation up to ten guests. Three single rooms with double beds .One have got ensuite. One double room that takes two guests it has got two 3/4 beds. All rooms have got TVs. There is a kitchen where the guests can help themselves with cooking and there is fridge where they can keep their cool drinks and food cool. There is a stove and cooking utensils.

Overview: Fish Eagles offers three spacious and comfortable self-catering cottages set in large grounds opposite the golf course and with spectacular views of the Umlalazi Nature Reserve and Indian Ocean beyond. The units (one two-bedroomed, one three-bedroomed and one three bedroomed but with extra space for four children) are serviced daily and have DSTV, private verandahs, barbeque facilities and a large communal pool. All linen is supplied, guests need to bring own towels and toiletries.

Overview: Room With A View is an idyllic colonial-style three-bedroom house with a beautiful landscaped garden overlooking the golf course, lagoon and the sea. The house has a beautifully furnished lounge and dining area and has a separate kitchen. It sleeps two couples and two singles and is serviced daily. It has DSTV, air-conditioning, ceiling fans and a large patio with barbeque facility.

Overview: Set on a farm outside Mtunzini, Toad Tree Cottage is a charming hideaway set in a large indigenous garden with sweeping views of sugarcane fields and the Ongoye hills. The cottage can accommodate six people comfortably in three decorative bedrooms. French doors open onto a verandah and private entertainment area with a swimming pool, alfresco dining and barbeque facilities. Self-catering or B and B options are available

Overview: Tree Top Cottage - surrounded by leafy parks and gardens - can accommodate 8 people in three spacious bedrooms with two bathrooms and full kitchen. Ceiling fans in all rooms and air-conditioning in the main bedroom. B and B option also available. DSTV is available on request. Braai facilities adjacent to Cottage.

Overview: Aloedale Lodge has seven en-suite double rooms. 3 rooms in the original homestead and 4 rooms are set apart from the house in an indigenous garden. All rooms are spacious with TV`s. The setting is very tranquil.

Overview: Situated in the Hlomo Hlomo region of Kwazulu Natal, Ntibane is the perfect African bush getaway. There are three self-contained stone cottages which are set around a scenic dam, two of which have a deck extending over the water. The other is more secluded with a small stream flowing past it. Each cottage sleeps two adults and two children with bathrooms en-suite. The kitchenettes are fully equipped. Camp Sites are also available.

Overview: Located on the Waterfront in Richards Bay, Mzingazi offers overnight, medium and long term furnished accommodation in unique waterfromt Studio/Bachelor apartments. Larger units, (2 to 4 bedroom), are available overnight.

Overview: La Rochelle have 9 colourful en-suite bedrooms and 4 self catering units all with 9 DSTV channels.The rooms are situated around 2 swimming pools in a huge tropical garden. Air-conditioning and overhead fans ensure you of perfect climate control. Fridges, coffee and tea facilities and full toiletries are available in all these rooms.Self catering units comprise of a fully equipped kitchen as well as their own braai facilities and are serviced on a daily basis.
